| Calabria is the region of Italy which
is at the ‘toe of the boot’, hence the phrase Sequire
il ditto, or Follow the toe. This narrow peninsula stretches
out as the toe of a boot, separated from Sicily by the Strait
of Messina. |

Though it’s surrounded by sea, the most
prominent geographical aspect is its’ three mountain ranges.
The Pollino, the Sila, and Aspromonte are each very unique with
their own flora and fauna.
It is definitely a land of contrasting beauty in many aspects.
Catanzaro is the capital of Calabria. |

The church bells ring, it's six o'clock in
the morning and the small town begins to wake up. You stand
at the window and watch the sun creep over the distant hills.
Pink hazy light fills the horizon; within minutes, patches
of green come to life in the valley below. The piazza fills
with people greeting each other as they head off to work or
